1A: May I have your tickets, please? |
1B: Here they are. The tickets are for the two of us. |
2A: Hi! I'd like two tickets for the movie King Kong, please. |
2B: Would you like to get the movie package that includes a snack and a soft drink? |
3A: Could you tell us where our seats are? |
3B: You are in row 7, seats 11 and 12. They are on the right side of the theater. |
4A: Here you are, sir -- one large popcorn and a medium Coke. |
4B: I'm sorry, but I ordered a Sprite, not a Coke. |
Narrator: David and Emily are planning to go to a movie theater and are searching
online to find a film they'd like to see.
David: How about this one? It's in 3-D!
It's a science fiction fantasy film about an alien race that invades
the earth. It's supposed to have incredible computer-generated special
effects!
Emily: I really don't want to see another 3-D film.
They sometimes make me feel dizzy, and the last time I saw one it made me
sick to my stomach.
David: Oh, it won't be that bad.
Besides, if you start to feel dizzy or nauseous, you can just close your eyes.
Emily: If I'm going to pay to see a movie in a theater, I would rather keep my eyes
open, thank you.
Why don't we go see this one instead?
It's about two people that meet once but then lose each other and are unable
to connect again for years.
It's gotten really good reviews.
David: Well, it sounds like a total snooze-fest to me.
It'll be impossible for me to keep my eyes open.
Emily: Oh, come on. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
David: What about this one?
It's about two guys who go on a road trip together.
It's a comedy of errors, and I'll bet we'll be rolling in the aisles.
Emily: It doesn't sound that funny to me.
Wait a minute. Here's one I think we both can agree on.
It's a romantic comedy that takes place in Paris.
Two ex-lovers run into each other in a museum, but they're both dating
other people at the time.
David: All right. Let's see that, then.
The schedule says that the movie starts in an hour, so we can just make it.
I'll book the tickets online right now, and then we can head out the door.
